My last cake before the baby!

Less than 2 weeks before my due date, I take on a cake job! It was a just a little one so it was nice to actually do something fun rather than constantly clean the house in my last few days before chaos takes over!

My best customer, Tiffany, was having friends visit from out of town and they are expecting as well. Both her and her husband are police officers so I thought I would make a little teddy bear with a police hat and badge to tie that in.

But that's it now til the end of May when I do my friend's baby shower cupcakes! She is exactly 5 weeks behind me!!!

Monkey See, Monkey Do, Monkey Baby Cake For You!

Okay, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, this cake! The colors, the theme, everything. This was a cake I did for a monkey-themed baby shower. When I had the idea to sculpt a monkey out of modeling chocolate it seemed easy enough. Then I went to do it and I remembered I had never really sculpted anything before! Ha! But I'm proud of how it turned out. I made the head and body out of rice krispie treats and covered with modeling chocolate. And the banana peels everywhere just make it! Even the flavors are well-suited! Chocolate cake with banana cream Italian Buttercream! MMMM!

Toy Story THREE!!!

Where does the time go? My niece, Niayah turned three and for her birthday cake I decided to do a Toy Story 3 cake. The only thing that wasn't edible were the two little figurines. I would have liked to attempt Buzz and Woody but they were just too small to get the right amount of detail so I cheated and put toys on there :(

Just like her dad, all she ever wants is vanilla cake! But a layer of Bavarian cream in the middle makes me feel like it's a bit more exciting! I was quite proud of this one. I think it turned out well!

Beach Wedding

A girl I went to highschool contacted me and asked me to make her beach-themed wedding cake. She had a 6" top and 4 dozen cupcakes of assorted flavors! All the seashells are made of white chocolate and I used graham crumbs for the sand.
